A new blogger

At 16 years old, the unnerving world of work should be a distant concern. Jobs are for people 20, 25, 30 + plus, right? All we have to focus on is getting those A's on results day, no? The rest is simply going to follow??? Wrong!
Not only do we toil over books night and day, face the perils of the exam hall , but now we have to spend extra time gaining 'experience' of our future careers! I'm sorry, but how, at 16 years old are we supposed to have decided what we want to do for the next 50 odd years? It's just too soon.
Not to mention that this so-called 'experience' is employers' innovate way of simply re-designing the slave trade! Do we really gain a useful insight into our future careers? Acquire knowledge of what may be required of us in a few years? Or is it more about traipsing aimlessly up and down corridors all day, carting mugs of tea forth and empty cups back? As far as I'm concerned, this is not a useful way to spend my time and yet it appears to have become essential for any future possibility of a job!
That, I suppose is the reason  I have begun this blog. I wish to gain experience in the literal and (in my opinion!) accurate meaning of the word. I wish to spend time doing something that I love (writing) and seeing whether anyone else believes I am able to do it.
In my mind, that is what work experience should be about.
